#7    Online Image Generators

Here are a couple of fun images I created with two different image generators. They both were generated courtesy of image chef .

I couldn't believe how many image generators were out there, and how careful you have to be (staying tasteful) when deciding which ones to utilize!

This is one that I made with License Plate Generator . It was kind of a pain to post to the blog because you had to save the picture and post it through Flickr rather than just being able to post the HTML code right into your blog.

Basically you can upload a picture of your own face (or someone else's face) and make a short dancing movie with that person as the star!

#6    Flickr Mashups, etc.

It was fun exploring the different Mashups and 3rd Party Tools. I found a fun Flikr tool called FlikrSLiDR so I input some tags related to libraries and it came back with the pre-made slide show below!

**If an error message shows in the screen, refreshing the page will usually take care of the problem**

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

I then tried searching under the tag "KDL2.0" and this is the slide show that was created.

I then decided to explore the Flickr spelling tool and requested letters which spelled out the name of my blog, Attitude is Everything.

I think it turned out pretty cool!

#5    Photo Sharing

I have used Flickr a little bit but not extensively. In comparing Flickr to Photobucket, I didn't see where photobucket had as many options for organizing photos or for tagging photos. It appeared that Photobucket had options for uploading and organizing video clips whereas I didn't see that option on Flickr. I also liked the mapping feature on Flikr that allows you to map the location of where a photograph was taken.

I used the mapping feature to tag this photo of the Nubble Light House which I recently took while vacationing in York Beach, Maine!

#4    Register Your Blog

I guess my blog is official (yikes!). I'm all registered and ready for the challenge!

#3    7 1/2 Habits and Lifelong Learning

I decided to title my blog, Attitude is Everything, because that is what I truly believe. My personal philosophy is to approach life with a positive attitude and always aim to focus on the positives rather than the negatives (which isn't always easy)!

I loved how the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners focused on lifelong learning. Lifelong learning is one of the reasons I decided to become a librarian. How cool is it that you can learn new things everyday while getting paid for it at the same time!

After listening to the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners, I would have to say that Habit #2 (Accept responsibility for your own learning) and Habit #3 (View problems as challenges) would be the easiest for me, while Habit #4 (Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner) would be the hardest.

I have always found that the best way to learn is to jump in with both feet and not be afraid of failure. In sticking with my personal philosophy, I have found that some of my best learning opportunities have been a direct result of my failures! That is how I know that viewing problems as challenges (Habit #3) would also be easy for me. I have learned that looking at problems as challenges is an effective way to keep a positive attitude, by dissecting a problem and looking for a solution...I've found it is a lot easier to stay positive!

Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner (Habit #4) would be the hardest challenge because it has always been hard for me to be confident in my abilities as a lifelong learner. I can honestly say that I love to learn and love challenges but sometimes feel that is sheer luck rather than skill when I finally accomplish a certain goal.

Maybe by the end of 23 Things, I'll finally have confidence in myself that I am a competent and effective lifelong learner :)
